Being one of the two services under the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the Air Traffic Service (ATS) is mandated to provide and manage air traffic services in accordance with established national and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and recommended practices; administer and implement operational plans and programs; establish and properly utilize the controlled and navigable airspace within the Manila Flight Information Region (FIR); develop ATS rules, regulations, procedures, standards and policies; and provide training and career development for ATS personnel.
